I have also used him to dig out a footing 100 ft. long by 18″ wide by 24″ deep for a base footing for a retaining wall and it was done perfectly and on grade as needed. I cannot recommend Mike Nixon enough. I have had a lot of excavation work done by him. He cleaned out my pond, reinforced my dam, and added an overflow. He also removed an old cement foundation from my property and an old septic tank that went with the old house and foundation. He also graded my land so the water was no longer flowing towards my house but away. It is perfect to this day. He has removed snow so my sheep had a place to play in the winter, and last but not least he has kindly dug two holes for two of my farm animals that died. In all of this, his rates were fair, he was prompt in the jobs he scheduled from start to finish. He is very reliable in every aspect and I would recommend Mike and his company to anyone.

I am in the process of building a new house on a lot that I have owned for quite some time. The lot is situated about 250 feet from the city sewer main requiring the excavation of a long trench from the house foundation to the center of the nearby street where the sewer main is located. The dig was somewhat complicated by the fact that the fall from the house to the sewer main was fairly slight and we did not have a lot of room for the grade that was required by the plumbing inspector. Although I contemplated digging the trench myself, I realized that I needed an expert to get the job done right. That is when I gave Mike Nixon from Upgrade Construction a call to come and help me out. Mike had done other excavation jobs for me in the past, and I found him to be one of the best, most precise, dependable, fast, professional, and affordable excavators/equipment operators that I have worked with. Mike came and did the job with the exact grade needed and the plumbing inspector gave his approval as work well done. He not only did a great job with the sewer line but the backfill afterwards was clean and thorough, and Mike left the job site looking remarkable. For what it’s worth, Mike Nixon from Upgrade Construction does an amazing job with any project requiring excavation such as grading, sewer/water lines, gravel deliveries, concrete/asphalt preparation, foundations, etc. I would highly recommend him for any excavation needs.

I recently hired Mike to resurface my large home and business driveway with new gravel. He came over, picked me up and drove me to the quarry and helped me select a suitable material for my needs. He was very detailed with explaining the pros and cons of several types of crushed rock and road mix, and gave me good advice. After selecting exactly what I wanted, he hauled it to my property and spread it nicely with a Skidsteer and put in many extra hours with a hand rake, making sure it was perfectly even around sidewalks and out-buildings. He did it all in one day and I feel like he gave me a lot more effort and attention to detail than he charged me for. I also felt like I should have been paying for landscaping because it looks so nice. I’ve had numerous comments from visitors and customers on how nice it looks.
